Putting pencil to paper as we tossed around concepts for how to outfit our show trailer was a ton of fun! It is always good to dream about the possibilities…maybe a hot tub here and a wet bar in there…oh wait, this is a Pit Products trailer storage cabinets and trailer organization accessories demonstration trailer not a rolling luxury spa.

We knew we needed to install some lighting in the ceiling and maybe even the wiring for a sound system. To help keep the electric bill low we made plans to implement a small solar charging system. Every cargo hauling trailer or vehicle hauling trailer needs to be apportioned with tie down points on the floor and it’s a good idea to mount stabilizing jacks on the underside of the trailer to help keep the trailer level and secure regardless of where you are parked or what load is inside the enclosed trailer.

However, before doing much of anything, we wanted to get a nice paint job done on the trailer walls and floor. The walls would be white and the floor gray. This effort paid off tremendously as you can see in the before and after images of our trailer above.

Before

We got to work on the customizations mentioned above and then we started talking about the trailer storage products we wanted to install inside the trailer. We probably went through 10 or 15 possible layouts for the inside of the trailer until settling on a trailer outfitting plan similar to what is shown on the sketch below.

Our enclosed trailer was to have a generous amount of Pit Products trailer cabinets, trailer ramps, trailer workstations and other trailer storage accessories in order to show the world all of the useful, robust, and good looking gear we manufacture at Pit Products.

There was so much to do…we’ll get more into the customizing and improving of the trailer in the next blog!
