Pit Products was asked by the Michigan based manufacturing company Orbitform to help Orbitform improve the functionality and look of Orbitform’s inspection lab. Pit Products supplied a variety of heavy duty diamond plate aluminum storage cabinets, work bench rolling cabinets, and work stations. Orbitform’s goal was to convert an out of date room it it’s factory into a world class quality control center to help it’s machine shop produce top notch parts. Orbitform wanted the quality lab to resemble an industrial operations center and perform like an organized and intelligent office environment so they can feel confident having internal team meetings and inviting customers into the lab.

Orbitform designs and builds assembly equipment solutions for manufacturing, including riveting, forming, welding, conveyors, and custom-engineered assembly systems. Orbitform also manufactures its own line of standard assembly products, all made in the USA since 1984. Orbitform’s services include assembly process analysis, tooling development, and low-volume production runs. Orbitform likes to refer to it’s main mission as to provide assembly solutions for manufacturing.

Orbitform Orbital Riveting Bench Machine

The crew at Pit Products was honored to be able to help Orbitform with this project. The Pit Products team built three (3) heavy duty and high quality rolling work bench storage cabinets, a few extra deep diamond plate 6 foot tall storage cabinets, a special 8 foot wide and 42 inch tall standing work station storage cabinet, a 2 foot wide diamond plate aluminum base cabinet, and one (1) special conference table. Rolling Work Bench Storage Cabinet

These three (3) work bench and rolling cabinets on wheels were built to allow Orbitform mobile and heavy duty work surfaces with high quality storage underneath. The inside of each 4 foot wide diamond plate aluminum cabinet features 4 deep, sliding drawers on the right hand side of the cabinet and an open storage area with one (1) adjustable shelf on the left hand side. A special feature requested by Orbitform was the butcher block top. These cabinets not only perform as bases for heavy equipment such as measurement tooling and hardness gages, but the rolling work benches also serve as good looking storage units.

Stand Up 8 Foot Work Station with Storage Cabinets

This special 8 foot wide and 42 inch tall standing work station storage cabinet really packs a punch in the quality lab. The 2 foot wide storage cabinets on each side allow for ample space to place tools, folders, and other important materials while the butcher block top offers a comfortable table top for spreading out drawings and reviewing specifications. All the pens, paper, and other miscellaneous office supplies are easy to access in the sliding drawer located in the center. We believe this heavy duty work station is really a work of art.

6 Foot Storage Cabinets with Extra Shelves

The 6 foot tall and 4 foot wide storage cabinet from Pit Products is an organizational and storage solution you won't find anywhere else. Orbitform agrees that the 4 foot width really makes this a versatile storage unit while the diamond plate aluminum helps the quality control lab (or any work space) really stand out. We like to say the classic 6 footer is a tough and flashy space saver. We have customers using these cabinets to store everything from recycling boxes, to lawn care products, to sporting goods, automotive accessories, cleaning products...you name it!  Now with Orbitform we have a customer storing machine tool measurement equipment and quality control supplies.

2 Foot Base Cabinet

Orbiform chose the 2 foot base cabinet on wheels as a small and mobile storage center for quality control gear they need to move around the shop. The 2 foot cabinet is perfect for factories, garages, auto repair centers, or any place that is tight on space especially if you want your work area to stand out from the crowd. The diamond plate aluminum base cabinet features a fully adjustable 16 inch deep shelf that you can install at the desired height on adjustable shelf tracks. The counter top can be either smooth aluminum or diamond plate aluminum.

We built these sweet work benches and storage cabinets for a manufacturing company, but really anyone working in a garage, workshop, stock room, restaurant, auto repair shop, or other industrial environment could benefit from the heavy duty quality, functionality, and sharp look of these units.
