Don’t be alarmed if you hear some rumbling over at the Michigan International Speedway this week as the Formula SAE Race Series is here in the Jackson, Michigan area for the annual competition involving 120 college race teams with race cars built by college students from each school!

Be on the lookout for the sweet race car hauling trailers traveling over local highways this week. Last night we saw the Clemson University and the Duke University race trailers. This morning on the way to work we saw the University of Wisconsin and the University of North Florida enclosed race trailers.

We also saw a Hyundai with 5 students inside driving to the race track with a sign on the car stating “MIS or BUST”.  It’s so exciting to know the student teams are converging here for the competition.

The Pit Products crew has some first-hand experience with the Formula SAE competition as one of our team members, David, was on the Oakland University Formula SAE race team back in 1998.  That was the Oakland team’s first year building a car and taking it to the track.  What an amazing experience.

Pit Products was fortunate enough to be able to help one of the current student race teams. The Georgia Tech Motorsports team contacted Pit Products a few weeks ago hoping to get some last minute trailer storage cabinets and trailer storage accessories for their enclosed car hauling trailer. Pit Products delivered a 4 Foot Trailer Base Cabinet and a Nitro-Canopy Cradle to outfit Georgia Tech’s race trailer. We hope to have a visit from the team when they are in the area this week!

All the teams are invited to visit Pit Products this week and weekend as they are in the Jackson, Michigan area. Our factory is less than 15 miles from MIS Speedway so please come by. The Pit Products crew would love to meet you, give you a tour of the factory, and get a chance to check out your race trailer.
