A Michigan manufacturing company noticed significant improvements with their shop floor organization after installing Pit Products storage cabinets, storage gear, and organizational accessories in different areas of their factory.

The business contacted Pit Products after one of its employees purchased some storage cabinets for his garage at home. The employee thought other Pit Products equipment could help out at work so he brought his boss over to the Pit Products factory and we started identifying ways to improve the manufacturer's shop floor organization and operational efficiency.

They started by installing a Pit Products 6 foot tall storage cabinet near one of their CNC lathes. This storage cabinet is now containing nearly all the work holding tooling used on that lathe. The cabinet is helping to keep the tools clean, organized, visible, and protected while also being located near the lathe. The guys on the floor claim they are able to save quite a bit of time now that they know where to find their work support tools.

Several machine tools in various places around the facility have been outfitted with a super key chain caddie, which was actually designed to hold key chains and other personal gear, but the factory is now using the super key chain caddies as versatile and easy to install tool hangers for rubber mallets, wrenches, air nozzles, ratchets bars, t-handle allen wrenches, and other important tools necessary to have nearby.

As would be important in any factory environment, this manufacturer wanted to offer its employees a convenient place to drop off their coats, jackets, sweatshirts, hats or other personal articles of clothing so they installed some Pit Products coat and hat racks in different locations around the shop. From the looks of the photo below, this hat and coat rack is being put to the test!

Finally, one of the Pit Products built zip tie dispensers can be found in the assembly and electrical area of this factory. The zip tie dispenser makes it very easy to find those zip ties that often are needed to secure wires together and keep equipment looking tidy.
